For those authors who have a lot going on
(books, articles, internet writing, columns, and such), you frequently have small, quick questions that come up and there's
no one for you to ask. Laurie's "Quick Counsel" service offers you the opportunity to call or email
her to get your questions answered quickly and on target.
Should I go to this writer's conference? Will it help
me sell my book? How do I meet editors or agents there? What are the copyright rules when
I quote people in my book? How do I get permissions that I need to give the publisher with my manuscript? Should
I publish parts of my unpublished book in magazines before I have a publisher? Can I be sued for using real names in
my book?...and so it goes.
Whether you call once and the discussion lasts an hour, or you call four
times that month with various questions, this is an efficient and effective service for the busy author.
This service
is structured on a retainer basis. There is a 3-month minimum to start. The service can then be stopped and later
reinstated as needed.
NOTE: There is no project analysis involved in this quick counsel.
